Political Correctness

Politically correctness is over the edge. The world's civilized citizens desire to avoid offense to any person or group has become illogical and nonsensical. Of greater significance, the guise of political correctness perpetuates crimes which would otherwise be clearly recognized for their harm to society. PC is the incubator for the advancement of illicit ideas and practices which threaten America's freedom's and values.

 

PC has reached such an apogee, that absurdities are glossed over and accepted. The media has struggled to promote a politically correct vision of Islam and in its all too common holier-than-though approach has even labeled those who question, criticize or speak out about the true nature of Islam as Islamophobias, racist, alarmist or hate mongers.

 

PC also invites hypocrisy. For instance, can you image the reaction if we were to reverse the parties in a recent political event?

"Washington -- Three people died Tuesday in a demonstration by American citizens angry over reports that Pakistanis burned an American flag and tore up a Bible in Islamabad. Chanting "Death to the Arab world!" and firing rifles into the air, the American demonstrators ransacked the offices of the Pakistani consulate, overturning desks and setting papers on fire, and tried to storm the United Nations. A Pakistani security detail and District of Columbia police largely stood helpless during the eruption, though not without casualties: Five persons were shot, three critically, and several dozen were taken to area hospitals with injuries, including two police officers who were wounded by rocks thrown by the demonstrators."

The U.K.'s Daily Telegraph reports that Muslim women working at U.K. medical facilities are increasingly refusing to comply with the basic hygiene standard of rolling up their sleeves when their washing hands. According to the report, female Muslim health care workers are ignoring Britain's Department of Health rules requiring medics to be "bare below the elbow" because they consider showing any skin, except for the hands and face, immodest. The rules were implemented to stave off the spread of infectious killer bugs such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile, which have recently been traced in the deaths of hundreds of hospital patients, according to the paper. Hygiene experts content that the common sense guideline should hold for all health care workers; even if it goes against their religion. According to Dr. Mark Enright, professor of microbiology at Imperial College London, "I don't think it would be right to make an exemption for people on any grounds. The policy of bare below the elbows has to be applied universally." However, the Islamic Medical Association issued a statement that "no practicing Muslim woman — doctor, medical student, nurse or patient, should be forced to bare her arms below the elbow."
